SPRING FLOWERS!

Spring weather is around the corner!!...again! We are working hard to help our PTO with our school's biggest fundraiser! Please consider going out and selling some flowers this weekend!! The students are super excited to earn AMAZING prizes. 

FLOWER SALE!!!

It's time! It's time! Carmel Elementary's annual Flower Sale begins today!! This is our biggest fundraiser and the students are pumped up to get selling! Students are bringing home their Flower Sale packet today with information and order forms. If you have further questions either let me know or visit the PTO's website for the flower sale: flowers4ce.com. There are also a ton of prizes that the kiddos are excited to try and earn. 

Also a quick reminder that Pup's running registration is open until the end of March! This is always a popular club and it's great to see a big turnout.

What a beautiful day! There was excitement in the air for the awesome long weekend ahead. We had a great Valentine's Day party and tried to spread a little extra kindness all week! 

Science Fair

I want to give a shout out to our science fair participants. Great job Abby, Katie and Ava! A special congratulations to Ava for earning first place! I was blown away by their hard work!

A Reading Heads Up

All students should be or will be finishing a novel that they received a few weeks ago. We have learned how to annotate in this novel. All students will need to have their book read by the end of next week. I encouraged them to take it home this weekend if they didn't feel like they were close enough! 

ISTEP Reminder

The first round of ISTEP will be February 27- March 1. Please try and have your kiddos here on those days by avoiding regular appointments. We will begin a practice ISTEP booklet next week. 

INFO TO KNOW!

Happy Friday everyone!! Here are a few important pieces of information:

•     We will have our Valentine’s day party on Tuesday afternoon! Below is a class list if your child would like to make valentines for their classmates.
•     The first round of ISTEP is quickly approaching. Please avoid these dates for regular appointments, etc. It is important to have all students here if possible. The dates are Monday, February 27 – Wednesday, March 1. 

Second Semester!

We are off!! Second semester is off to an awesome start. It was so fun to hear about all the fun things the kids did over break. We were excited to start some exciting new units and stuff this week!

Here are a few notes about this week and upcoming weeks ahead:

• Report cards: 2^nd quarter report cards are available to view on my ccs.
•   New homework changes: A letter went home and was emailed about changes made to homework for second semester.
•  Body safety: The students took part in the body safety talk today.
•   MAP testing: Our second round of MAP testing starts next week. We will start with Math and then do Language Arts.
•   Science: A new unit called Earth’s Changing Surface started this week. We are super excited to learn about the earth’s surface and how it changes.
• Long division: IT’S COMING!!! We will begin long division next week. If your child is struggling with multiplication facts, try to work on them! It will make it SOOO much easier for them! J
•     Writing: We are starting a new genre: Informational text!

• Wed.,   November 9:     Veteran's Day Program for 4th Grade and 4th/5th Grade Choir
• All kids must wear Khakis and Choir shirt to school.
• Thurs., November 10:   4th and 5th grade Choir Field Trip:  10:00-1:30
• Choir kids must wear Khakis and Choir shirt to school.
• Mon., November 21:      Books MUST be finished for week 5 book report!!!!
• WE will work on the reports in class!  You just need to make sure your child has finished the book!
• Wed.-Fri. 11/23-25:       Thanksgiving Break!  ENJOY!!!
